
Little Rock, AR (June 16, 2010) – BASS announced today that their Pro roster of professional anglers will head to the Arkansas River June 9-12, 2011 for the Diamond Drive Tournament. Anglers will launch each morning from the North River Landing Boat Ramp next to the I-30 Bridge in North Little Rock and each day’s weigh-in will be conducted at the same site. Attendance at the weigh-ins are free and open to the public.
Arkansan Scott Rook won the 2006 Bassmasters Legends Tournament with a winning weight of 34 pounds, 9 ounces. The 2006 event was also held on the Arkansas River and was an Elite level tournament. “We are proud to play host to this prestigious national event. The Arkansas River offers a great amenity to Central Arkansas and we are excited about the exposure that the tournament will bring to our area,” stated Frank Thomas, President of the Arkansas River Cities Sports Commission.

The Elite Series consists of eight events held March through June. Tournament locations include: Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina and Arkansas.
Current Arkansans fishing the Bassmaster Elite Series include: Scott Rook, Kevin Short, Billy McCaghren, Clark Reehm, Mike McClelland, Mark Davis and Stephen Browning.
